It is absolutely necessary that we have a major appointed immediately

And we do recommend Sen Capt Sylvester W. Munn as the proper person for that office, as he has been acting as such from the 5th inst and has shown himself competent and qualified for that position. And he is a gentleman in whom the officers of the Reg have confidence and with whom they would be Satisfied.
