Hon Richard Yates, Dear Sir
Mr and Mrs Samuel Curry called on me a long time ago and requested me to write you and give you their thanks for your Kindness, on behalf of their Son you will also pleas accept mine for your promptness in attending to it. Mr Curry resides in in the South part of our County in a Copper Head Neighborhood where they were making grist a handle of the treatment of young Les
Curry against the Union cause which your promptness has corrected. I do not know what Politicans think or say but I Know there is but one opinion among the People that is that [let?] runs Name Gov Yates for Senator as we cannot have him againe for Gov and I have no hesitation in saying that there will be a Yates Man Elected from this Co. & McLean to the Legislature and God Send these ways be from [illegible] Ev.
