Cairo Ills,

Sir: Richard R. Yeargin of Co F. 30th Regt Ill. Vet. Vols. is confined in your hospital and as I am informed incapacitated by wounds to do further field duty. As he cannot receive his discharge while in Post Hospital, I would request that he be transferred to General Hospital at Quincy or Camp Butler, to be examined for discharge.

Act. Asst. Surgeon J. P. Taggart USA has been directed to transfer the within named Priv. Richard R. Yeargin Co. F. 30th Ill. Vet. Vols., to Quincy General Hospital to be examined for discharge.

To prevent delay in similar cases, it is respectfully requested that the application be addressed to Col. R. C. Wood Asst. Surgeon General U.S.A. who alone has the authority to make individual transfers in cases of emergency, from one General Hospital to another.
