Dear Sir
Yours of the 18th inst. came duly to hand & contents cearffuly read &c.
And in reply, I will say that I don't no that I am a compant judge, whoo of my fellow citisons are the most promment men of my county. for the reason that pollitick have taken a different channel since I was a pollitishian, that is to say the Union Leag, on my side of the house & the K. G. S. on the outher side---and I never have availed my self of the honnor of joinning the Union leag. but I would say that I thinck Dr L.C. Alling & C.D. Greean, Esq of Neoga, Ills and A.J. Caldwell of [Magorrety?] Point, Ills, A. K. Boswerth of Greenup, Ills and Capt Sile Kelly. I don't no the capts post office, but a letter directed to him to Greenup, Ills, care of A. K. Boswourth will be shure to reach the capt. he the capt, is a commalite preacher and I expect he is the most influenchel man in the county. and as for a Senator & Represenativ tickkett, for Sertin I cant say but as Clark & Cumberland Countys Elects one Represenativ, I wold thinck that Col. Will B. Archer, of Clark County would be the strongest man. In the two count

Gov, I am verry sorry to say to you that I am not posted as to the prominent men of my county, but sutch , sir, in the fact. If you wish to wright to me at enny time, you can do so---and I will anser prompt, and give you all the information I am in posesion of.

He gives the names of Dr. T.C. Allen of Neoga. C D Green of Neoga. A J Caldwell of Majority Point & A.K Bosworth of Greenup as the most prominent men of his county. Thinks Col W. B. Archer of Clark Co would be a strong man for Representative.
