Governor Richard Yates
Dear Sir-
Allow me to Call your attention the state of this Representative district which sends three members to the Legislature and is included in the 7th Congressional District. Edgar one of these counties has a close vote and hopes of carrying the county ticket. Now there are two companies of the 62d Infantry (Col [illegible]) at Little Rock on duty who if they can can be [spared?] will cast two hundred votes in Edgar & Coles insuring the Representative ticket & the Edgar Co ticket ard greatly strengthening the Congressional Ticket. We need these men. Can any thing be done for us? If so I feel sure you will use every effort. We are making a hard struggle here
I hope you may be able to effect the furloughing of these men.
Very Respectfully
