Dear Govonor
I arrived safe home on the night of the 7th inst, & found my family all well & pleased to see me
Hoping you have recovered from your wound, so that you are able enabled to attend to your official duties, which I know to be very laborious.
The Quartermaster Gen of Your glorious State has not arrived [as?] yet from Washington, what his delay may be am unable to say, but when he does come hope all will be satisfactory. We are prepared with sample of all kinds, required, & feel confident that we can furnish as fine & in fact much finer than any party in the country. We are prepared to furnish either parts or the whole, as you may see fit to give us, & remember as fine an article as ever was furnished to any troops in the U States, we have all the facilities that are required & goods that can not be surpassed..
Blankets can be furnished & of the
best in the country. A T Steward of New York purchase there Blankets in part from the same house that agreed to furnish us in this city.
My very best wishes to Mrs Yates & children, & tell Mr Yates that the Lady has lost her meashure but wish the meashure I took & my assistance she will do her dresses Justice.
In regards to the Housekeeper, he has not entirely made up her mind to go West but I think I will be enabled to get Just such a woman as You wish, will not send any but one that I have full confidence in & one that will suit Mrs Yates.
Please accept again my sincere thankes for the Kindness shown me by You & Your family when out, hoping that in future I may be enabled to reciprocate.
Very Respectfully Yours
