Description
A miniature in a locket features the image of Lieutenant Robert Anderson. Anderson commanded Abraham Lincoln during the Black Hawk War, fought in the Seminole and Mexican-American Wars, and was the commanding officer of Fort Sumter at the beginning of the Civil War. Anderson rose in the military to finally reach the rank of Major General. After the attack on Fort Sumter, Anderson commanded the Department of Kentucky and the Department of the Cumberland.
