Dear Sir
Mr Ranstead informs he has succeeding in raising a battalion of sharp shooters, to be attached as he expects to Genl Lamon's Brigade - for which Genl Lamon has the consent of the Secty of War
I hope it will be consistent with your views of propriety to give such orders, as will enable Mr Ranstead to succeed in his desires. he deserves a faverable consideration --
