The undersigned take pleasure in recommending the bearer E.M. Beardsley Esq to you as a man of prompt active energetic and correct business habits and some military, having been efficient in recruiting and assisting in the organization of the 13th Reg. Under C. Wyman.

Mr. Beardsley is Ex-Sheriff of this County and a citizen of long standing. Any assistance you can render him in securing a post in which he can serve our Common Country will be duly appreciated by his numerous friends.
