Capt Moore was in the Battle of Donelson and Pittsburg Landing and bore himself most gallantly in battle. He has superior qualifications as a commanding officer. in his appointment the public services will [illegible] a valuable officer While the officers & men of this Regt. will feel that their services have not been wholly forgotten Respectfully your friend
