My Dear Sir
Your forms were all duly recd. I have this day signed the paper authorising you to increase the Police force, as you request, and represent as necessary. Have sent it to [Gross?] with a request for him to sign & forward it to you. He will do so I have no doubt.
I desire you will restore Ben [Beverage?], and I want the place of day watch man for David G Vose, an honest, worthy poor man. [Woud?] promised it & Vose was notified he should have it. You must let me have it for him.
Yrs Truly
