My Dear Sir:
Please accept my thanks for your kind invitation to accompany yourself and Lady on the excursion down the Potomac, Thursday evening the 26th inst onboard the Steamer 'Wawasset'.
I regret my inability to join you in the excursion, as my arrangements are
made for leaving Washingtin with my family early next week.
