Hoping you will excuse preliminareys and allow me the honor of addressing you to inform you of the way the Illinois Boys are treated in this department. I had some Dificelty with Some of my Officers and was tried and acquited by the Jury and afterwards by the prejudce of some of the officrs a reinvestigation was had and sentanced for a year in this plase And the Charges of which I Sware I am Clear.
And by your enfluence I no I can be released and restored to my comand for aney thing is preferable to this earthly hell I will send you full proceedings of my trial soon as I can get them
