Greeting.

Allow me to ask a favor of you of provided you have the power of which I am ignorant. I received a furlough for 30 days dated on the 30th of Sept. and expires on the 30th of the present eight days before the election I was delayed two day at Chattanooga one at Nashville one at Lousiville one at Indanapplas and one at Lafyett. the rebs had been destroying the R R betwene Nashville and Chattanooga which was the cause of so much


delay. I have been thinking if you would bring your enfluence [illegible] hare with other interested men in power. my loss time could be given me and enable me to be at the Election. it would be gratifying to me to help Elect Mr Lincolln. I will now submit this to your consideration.
