To his Excellency,
Gov. Yates,
Springfield
We the undersigned orderlies of the following Barracks would respectfully ask of your Excellency to furnish us with sufficient provisions, as we are almost in a starving condition and the men are getting beyond control, we have laid our case before Headquarters but can get no remedy.
Our rations last night consisted of 1 cracker, and 1 cup coffee, this morning the rations were the same in most of the Barracks.
We would respectfully your Excellencys attention to this matter.
