This will be handed to you by Thomas Geddes who appears to be the choice of the new Regiment now being organized in this City for Colonel. I have known Col Geddes for twenty five years and can safely recommend him as in every respect worthy of a command. He has much experience as a military man - is capapable, honest, and worthy, and I hope he will be appointed
