Gen. Hospital No 7. 2d Ward.

To. His. Exelency Richard Yates

Govenor of the State of Illinois

Sir

At the request of the wounded of this ward I will write you a few lines, there are about 20 in this ward that were wounded in the Battle of Chickamauga, most of the Ohio and Indianna Soldiers that were wounded in that fight have bin transferred to their own States, we do not see any reason why we should not be transferred to Illinois, we get verry good care, but the victuals we get are not fit for a starving man to eat, Hoping it may be remied to suit all concerned I will close.
