I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your telegram referring to recruiting for Benefit of New York and report that I served your order with copy of the Despatch upon the Sergt in charge of 16th Regt Recruiting Rendezvous the 11th & 14th having been already closed, and received the following reply from Sergt Walker. That he will take what men he now has enlisted, proceed with them to Buffalo where he will report to Capt. King, his superior, obtain orders in his possession, return with them and report at once to me in the matter.
Immediately on his return I will advise you of such further action.
