I received on yesterday a copy of a resolution passed by the General Assembly of the State of Maine "in regard to our recent victories in the West" a copy of which you doubtless have also received.
I felt it to be my duty to write to the Governor of Maine, a letter on the subject, a copy of which I deem it proper to send to you.
