Sir

Our fellow townsman Cap. John W. Myers goes to Springfield tomorrow, with the Company from Vermilion County. He is anxious to occupy a place in the Commissary Department of the Army & requests me to make a statement in regard to his qualifications.

He is an ardent lover of his Country, and will stand by her flag unto the End.

His capacity for business is of a high order. and he is known in our Community as an honorable & highly successful business man. Having an ample private fortune, his patriotism prompts him to take the field for this Country. His services would be valuable in the Department in which he seeks a place

Very Respectfully O. F. Harman
